Ideas to Actions:
A Springeneration for EU-MENA Cooperation
14 November 2012, 15:00 – 18:00
European Parliament, 'Yehudi Menuhin' Space, Brussels
The Arab Spring has led to major changes in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) over the past two years, which have
provided a rare opportunity for Europe and MENA countries to begin a fresh era of cooperation based on dialogue and mutual respect.
As part of that dialogue, the Centre for European Studies (CES) created an online public opinion survey titled ‘Springeneration’
which was active during the first half of 2012. The aim of the survey was to gather ideas from people in MENA countries for how to forge a better partnership with Europe. Thanks
to the more than 70,000 participants who shared their ideas, the voices of the people of the MENA region will soon be heard by European officials.
On 14 November, the CES will host 9 actual participants of the Springeneration survey at an event at the European
Parliament in Brussels. These guests from MENA countries will be in Brussels to share their views directly with European policymakers and stakeholders. Please find our draft
program here.
